The Palm Pre Plus is now available with AT&T in the US. It costs $149.99 on a two year contract. Its younger sibling Palm Pixi Plus will be launching on AT&T on June 6th 2010. The Palm pre Plus features a 3.1 inch multitouch display with a resolution of 320 x 480, a slide out QWERTY keyboard, in-built GPS, a 3MP camera with an LED flash and geotagging. It also comes with 16GB of storage and has 802.11 b.g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, a microUSB port and a 3.5mm audio jack.
AT&T had announced on its Facebook page that the Palm Pre Plus will be available starting May 16 for $149.99 with a two-year contract and after a mail-in rebate. The device will be exactly like the Pre Plus that launched for Verizon earlier this year, except it will use a GSM radio (instead of CDMA) and require a SIM card.
With the AT&T launch, the Palm Pre Plus is now available on all major networks in the US. IMO, the $149.99 price is definitely on the higher side considering that Verizon is offering it for $29 (and Palm Pixi Plus for free on contract). The only advantage of this exorbitant price is a free Touchstone. Coincidentally, Sprint sells the Palm Pre Plus at the same price as AT&T ($149). With HP now calling the shots at Palm Inc., it is widely believed that an HP gadget running webOS might be hitting the stands soon.
The Palm Pre Plus is available for purchase from AT&T's website here.
