Sprint Palm Pixi Wifi Goof-up!

Comment Now

Sprint does it again! It's great to have an aggressive advertising campaign, but you get your facts right.  Palm made a blunder to omit WiFi from Palm Pixi. However, it seems that Sprint is yet to come to terms with this shock :) . Their latest advertisement shows lists the Palm Pixi as being 'WiFi capable' while Pixi's WiFi absence is being talked around everywhere. Hard to explain, isn't it? Well, that's Sprint for you.

Pixi can haz wifi?

Pixi can haz wifi?

Unless, Sprint has managed to convince Palm to make Pixi WiFi capable and not made a public disclosure (very unlikely), this advertisement is likely to spread confusion rather than popularity. Perhaps, the Sprint advertising and technical teams need to meet for coffee more often :) It's a shock considering that the initial Sprint Palm Pixi Press Release and the Palm Pixi product sheet did not have any mention of WiFi.

Palm loyalists and devotees will feel an encore of the mess that followed the release of Motorola Q2 phone running on PalmOS. However, the good part for Palm and Sprint despite this goof-up is that the advertising campaign is receiving a good initial response from prospect customers.

In good faith, let us be rest assured that just the advertisement that's goofed-up, not the phone itself.
