In a recent interview, the Palm Senior Vice President, Kevin Packingham, elaborated on Palm's expectations around the Pixi launch. In his words, the Palm Pixi is a "fun and easy to use" phone. He emphasized that using multiple applications on the Palm Pixi as easy as flipping cards, courtesy natural gestures. Therefore, you can easily switch between browsing the internet and checking your emails while listening to your favorite songs. Kevin mentioned that the Pixi is amongst the most social media friendly phones available in the market and it's integration with LinkedIn, Facebook, and Yahoo works like a charm. Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein had mentioned in a press conference that Palm expects to sell 10 million WebOS based products during 2010 - High Hopes to say the least !

Ever since the Palm Pixi has been launched, there have been rumors of Nokia expressing it's interest to buyout Palm. While analysts have not ruled out this possibility, it's hard to see how the webOS would fit with Symbian and Maemo operating systems in Nokia. Late entrants into the mobile segment - HP and Dell have also cited preliminary interest in Palm.

It remains to be seen if Palm Pixi can revive the fortune of Palm or if it is just a matter of time before Palm is mopped up by one of the biggies.
