Telus – Palm Pixi Canada Launch in January 2010?

Comment Now

While USA is playing with the new Palm Pixis, the rest of the world will need to wait longer before they can get their hands on this smartphone. The Palm Pixi had it's fair (to be honest, more than fair) share of rumors around the release date and pricing for the Sprint release in USA. It seems to be no different in Canada - at least for now. The latest speculation doing the rounds of mobile enthusiasts in Canada is that the Palm Pixi will be launched by Telus in January 2010. Although the Palm Pre is doing pretty well in Canada, Palm has decided to drop the Pixi prices by $50 to set the clock ticking for the Palm Pixi release on it's HSPA network in January.

Bell launched it's new shared HSPA network Telus with a lot of expectations. Though Telus has done reasonably well, it has lagged behind Rogers in the battle of smartphones. With it's aggressive move to offer Blackberry, iPhone and now the Palm Pixi, it is very well positioned to take on the Rogers challenge.

There's no official word from Telus yet regarding the official Palm Pixi release date or the pricing. It looks like the Palm Pixi - Telus Canada story would be an encore of the Sprint US launch. We will keep you posted about the latest word on the Palm Pixi Telus launch in Canada.
